Membership

By joining the Free Society Institute, you affirm the core membership statement, namely:

Members of the Free Society Institute commit to holding themselves responsible for what they believe, and for striving to hold beliefs responsibly, in that they will be guided by empirical evidence rather than by dogma, prejudice or superstition. In particular, the Free Society Institute holds a naturalistic worldview, disbelieves in the existence of supernatural agents, and rejects the influence of metaphysics on public policy.

Beyond this core statement, members variously describe themselves as skeptics, atheists, secularists, humanists and a variety of other terms. The FSI hopes to serve as an umbrella organisation for individuals and organisations who share the core commitment expressed in the FSI membership statement.
